Month Late and a Dollar Short? OR My Little Brothers Make Their Way to the Island!

So, life goes and goes and goes. Things happen or don't, or whatever. A month later I make a post trying to be hilariously clever, however, reality sets in and it's truthfully a bit bland. Thankfully not sour. Blerg..

I do not even know how to recap the past month that has passed. I mean, sure, we did things, I'm sure of it. Lots of them. So, in fact, let me grab some pictures to remind me of the interesting things that took place.

Trio of brothers at the Honolulu Airport
I picked up my brothers from the airport at the end of May (21st or thereabouts).. We then had a super good time doing all the things, or at least most of the things. Matthew (middle) and Mason (right) were both super stoked to come to Hawai'i as neither had ever been. Lots of surfing, beachin' and general good timin' all over.
Mason really enjoyed the yummy ramen!

Matthew was only able to stay for a week, however mason stayed for an additional week on his own.

Atop Diamond Head crater
Phew! That was a lot. It was two crazy hectic but busy and tons of fun weeks. We ate at a lot of great places and saw some great things. The one big let down was the waves were too big when we went to the north shore and we had really been excited to see a turtle there. However, when the waves are too big, you can't really snorkel there, it's just not safe at all.

Couple things I have learned from hosting. First, my surfboard is a great beginner board. It's super stable and floats really nicely. Should pretty much just start people off on that one. Second, it's better to just kind of wing a plan than to have things super planned out. Sometimes when you plan every step it just leaves you antsy waiting for the next thing, or disappointed when you are not running on schedule.

One Friday during this time I received a phone call from a high school in the area. They wanted me to interview for a long-term substitute position in Marching Band, Beginning ukulele and Beginning piano. So, amidst my brother's visit I interviewed, got, and accepted the position, which should begin soon. Also, I then had to pick up a ukulele and start practicing (working on getting lessons soon).

Anyway, a week after the brothers left, Charlene (my sister) came to visit. That however, will have to wait until the next entry.

Here are some videos of Mason on a surfboard. He had eventually success, sadly, that day at Cliffs (near Diamond Head) however, I was no where near him when he did it, so I could not take a video. Oh well.
